Major League Soccer (MLS), Black Players for Change (BPC), and RBC Wealth Management have announced the 2026 MLS All-Star Hometown Heroes, an annual honor celebrating non-profit organizations and their leaders who demonstrate innovative approaches to serving individuals and communities with the greatest need across the Carolinas. One of the four winners is Ashley Allen, co-executive director of Read 2 Succeed Asheville/Buncombe County.

Robin A. Miller, CEO of the Blowing Rock Chamber of Commerce, will serve as a class advisor at Institute for Organization Management, a leadership training program produced by the US Chamber of Commerce.

Churchill, the condominium building planned for a half acre lot on 161 Church St. in Asheville’s South Slope district, was originally designed with 44 residences but will now include 37. Churchill has three top-floor penthouses under contract at close to $4.5 million each, a figure that would represent the highest announced for a residential condominium project in the city.
