Folkwear, an independent sewing pattern company, is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.  Folkwear was started in California in the mid-1970s, and the first copyright for their patterns was 1976. The company is now located in Asheville and has over 100 patterns in print, and available digitally, for historic and folk clothing from around the world. Folkwear also carries fabric and sewing supplies suitable for the patterns. Patterns are sold wholesale and retail from their website. They are celebrating this 50 year milestone with new pattern releases, contests, and connections to customers.
