UNC Health Appalachian announced that Anne-Corrine Beaver, MD, FACS, has been recognized with the Commission on Cancer (CoC) Cancer Liaison Program Award for Outstanding Performance.

The award recognizes Cancer Liaison Physicians (CLPs) who demonstrate exceptional leadership as physician quality leaders within their cancer programs. CLPs play an important role in helping cancer programs evaluate performance, identify opportunities for improvement and advance the quality of care provided to patients and their communities.

As a CLP, Dr. Beaver works with the cancer committee to evaluate program performance, use data to identify opportunities for improvement and help ensure the program meets the standards established by the Commission on Cancer.

CLPs also serve as important connections between cancer programs and organizations such as the American College of Surgeons and the American Cancer Society, helping bring valuable resources, information and best practices to their communities.
