Barbara Darby Presented with Order of the Long Leaf Pine

Barbara Darby, Assistant Workforce Director with Mountain Area Workforce Development Board at Land of Sky Regional Council will be retiring at the end of June. At the May meeting of the Land of Sky Regional Council Board of Delegates, Holly Jones, WNC representative for Governor Stein presented Darby with the "Order of the Long Leaf Pine" Award. This award is one of the state's most prestigious honors granted by the Office of the Governor of North Carolina. Barbara has worked in North Carolina for over 30 years focused on education and workforce development. She was a public school teacher with Onslow County Schools, Henderson County Schools, and Buncombe County Schools.
