The Transylvania County Tourism Development Authority (TCTDA) announced Jody McNiel as its new Operations & Outreach Specialist. Jody will be working closely with Executive Director, Clark Lovelace to support tourism development initiatives, foster community partnerships, and promote the natural beauty, and economic vitality of Transylvania County.
A Brevard native, Jody combines deep local roots with experience in tourism, nonprofit program coordination, and grant development. She holds a bachelor's degree in history from the University of North Carolina at Asheville and an associate in applied science from Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College.
"I’m excited for the opportunity to serve the community I call home," said Jody. "Growing up here enjoying the outdoors, knowing the forests, trails, and character of this place, and seeing how Brevard has grown over the years gives me a perspective I hope will be an asset to the team. I look forward to helping coordinate and administer grant programs while supporting outreach efforts that benefit residents, visitors, and local partners alike."
Jody will lead tourism partner outreach and support many of the TCTDA’s efforts beyond promotion, including its extensive grant program and sustainability work. She joins existing team member Mollie Gordon, who leads social media, content generation, and a range of marketing initiatives.
"I'm excited to have Jody join our team," states Lovelace. "Her experience and love for her hometown will serve her well as she begins her work, much of which directly supports the local tourism-related business and natural resources that make our community special."
