Two Banks Development, LLC has donated semi-trucks to Haywood Community College for its Truck Driving (CDL) program.
“Our economy is only as strong as its current and future workforce," said said Eric J. Spirtas, Owner of Two Banks Development, LLC. "Over the last two years, I’ve been deeply engaged in Canton and Haywood County—learning the community, working with local leadership, and helping shape a responsible path forward. Dr. Shelley White and Haywood Community College are central to that future. As new opportunities take hold, workforce readiness becomes critical. Supporting the college isn’t just meaningful—it’s essential to building a stronger, more sustainable local economy. These strategic partnerships help bridge the gap between industrial potential and local opportunity.“
The addition of these trucks for the program will allow HCC to offer all classes locally, on the campus of HCC offering students the ability to have a seamless registration and class experience.
There is no better way to gain hands-on experience in this high-demand field then to learn on equipment that is up to date to ensure all program graduates are ready to enter the workforce upon completion of the 13-week course and passing of the certification exam.
The next CDL class will begin in August with the new HCC driving pad available for use, allowing for students to learn the skills they need on campus in the outdoor training facility.
