UNC Health Appalachian is opening a new clinic in Linville, bringing expanded access to specialized care for residents of Avery County and surrounding communities.
Located within Sloop Medical Office Plaza, 436 Hospital Drive, Suite 110, Avery Specialty Clinic offers both Women’s Health and AppGastro services in one location.
“To improve the health of our communities, we must continue to expand access to specialized care in the places people live and work,” said Nathan Nipper, CEO of UNC Health Appalachian. “Avery Specialty Clinic reflects that commitment by bringing essential women’s health and gastroenterology services closer to home for the High Country.”
To celebrate, the community is invited to attend a ribbon-cutting ceremony on May 4 at noon.
Women’s Health services at the clinic provide comprehensive gynecologic and women’s healthcare, including well-woman exams, preventive screenings, contraception and family planning counseling, preconception care, prenatal care and pregnancy monitoring, as well as postpartum support and screenings.
AppGastro brings specialized gastroenterology services to Avery County, offering treatment for a range of digestive conditions, including acid reflux, indigestion, bloating, gallbladder disorders, abdominal pain, constipation, and more.
By offering these services locally, Avery Specialty Clinic helps reduce the need for patients to travel outside the county for specialty care, supporting UNC Health Appalachian’s mission to improve access and outcomes across the region.
