“AdventHealth Hospice is committed to providing dignified, comfort‑focused care that honors the body, mind and spirit,” said Mark Wheeler, chief financial officer of AdventHealth Home Services. “Our proposal for McDowell County reflects our mission to support patients and families with compassion and presence when they need it most.”
AdventHealth has cared for communities in Western North Carolina for more than a century, anchored by AdventHealth Hendersonville since 1910. Over the years, the organization has expanded specialty services across the region and now provides radiation oncology care in Marion, building on an established service under new ownership, along with home health services in Buncombe, Henderson, Polk and Transylvania counties.
“Expanding hospice choice in McDowell County ensures patients and families can select care that reflects their values, needs and wishes during a deeply personal time,” said Krystin Littleton, executive director of AdventHealth Home Health. “We are honored to support our Western North Carolina communities, and it would be a privilege to bring AdventHealth Hospice services to the people who call McDowell County home.”
