A local biscuit shop is expanding and moving.
The owners of Flour Cafe, which opened in the S&W Building in downtown Asheville more than a year and a half ago, announced recently that it would move into a new space.
In actuality, the eatery isn't moving too far down the road, as it will soon open in the former home of Laughing Seed Restaurant at 40 Wall Street. Laughing Seed closed on May 31, 2025, after several decades of serving the area.
In an Instagram post, the owners of Flour Cafe said one of the reasons for moving is: "We do not have a big enough kitchen or space to meet the growing demand and give the experience that y’all deserve."
The plan is to open the new space in March, the post said.
"The is the ideal expansion for us because it keeps us in the heart of downtown Asheville while also helping to rejuvenate the beautiful Wall St.," the post continued. "With significantly more square footage, we will be able to serve more guests and expand our menu offerings to a FULL breakfast and brunch menu (don’t worry - the biscuits aren’t going anywhere."
