Calliope Stage Company recently celebrated the opening of its new performance and event space at 513 Mill Street, Sylva, with a ribbon cutting ceremony held on Monday, December 22, at 4 p.m.

The ribbon cutting marked an important milestone for Calliope Stage, as it is the theatre company's first-ever permanent space, which will support the organization’s continued growth and future programming. The event was held in partnership with the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce, recognizing the company’s continued contribution to the cultural and creative life of the community.

"Calliope Stage Company is thrilled to be able to ground our work and welcome our community in this wonderful downtown Sylva space," said Board of Directors President Kara Addy. "We invite anyone curious about theatre to learn more about our upcoming performance season, educational workshops and programs, volunteer opportunities and other ways to support our storytelling mission. We are grateful for the generous support from everyone who helped make this moment possible, and we look forward to welcoming audiences and theatre education participants to the new space."
