The new Caring Transitions location, owned and operated by Dee & Stu Senter, will provide a unique full-service approach that is an end-to-end solution, including decluttering, resettling, clean-outs, space planning, and managing estate sales and online auctions while providing a win-win experience for everyone.

Stu and Dee Senter bring a diverse and extensive background to their new Caring Transitions franchise. Stu spent 26 years with the Department of Defense as a research psychologist and polygraph instructor, culminating in his role as a supervisor in the field. His career has equipped him with strong leadership and analytical skills that will be valuable in managing operations and guiding families through life transitions. Dee, an entrepreneur since 2007, has a wide-ranging career that includes working as a special events planner, owning toy stores, and running a family business offering guided ATV tours. She has always been passionate about creating meaningful experiences for others. Married for 30 years and the proud parents of four children, the Senter family plans to make this new venture a true family operation, bringing together their collective strengths and experiences.

Both Stu and Dee are graduates of Appalachian State University, and they are excited to leverage their diverse skill sets to support seniors and their families through the transitions of downsizing, relocation, and estate sales. Launching Caring Transitions of Hendersonville, NC was a deeply personal decision shaped by faith and community. After losing their home and business in a 2022 fire, the couple experienced firsthand the power of compassion and support.

“The only thing we knew was to be thankful,” said Dee Senter. “Knowing that so many people were putting their lives on the line for us—the firefighters, the neighbors, and the friends who immediately started donating clothing and essentials—was incredibly humbling. We moved seven times before finding a home again, and through it all, we saw the light of others helping us each step of the way.”

Caring Transitions specializes in a full range of services tailored to meet the unique needs of seniors and their families. Whether a client is moving, aging in place, or managing the estate of a loved one, the team provides support every step of the way. With nationwide accreditation as Certified Senior Transition Specialists, the Senters and their team offer trusted expertise, ensuring families receive compassionate, professional guidance during major life changes.

“We are thrilled to welcome Stu and Dee Senter into the Caring Transitions franchise family as we expand our presence in North Carolina,” said Ray Fabik, President of Caring Transitions. “With Stu’s 26 years of experience with the Department of Defense, including his role as a research psychologist and supervisor, and Dee’s entrepreneurial background in special events planning, retail, and family-run businesses, they bring a unique blend of leadership and business expertise. Their passion for family and community, along with their diverse skill sets, make them a perfect fit for our mission of providing compassionate, comprehensive support to seniors and their families.
