Haywood Community College and NCWorks are co-hosting Manufacturing Day on Friday, October 3 from 2-6pm at the Regional High Technology Center. This nationally recognized day encourages companies and educational institutions nationwide to open their doors to students, parents, and community leaders to build excitement about manufacturing careers to help communities and future generations thrive.

This event will provide an opportunity for regional manufacturing employers to share information about their businesses and potential career opportunities.

Haywood Community College will showcase manufacturing programs and lab spaces for all guests to explore and see firsthand. These programs include Industrial Systems Technology, Computer Integrated Machining, and Electrical Systems Technology. Students entering any of these programs are eligible for the PIVOT scholarship, which may cover all tuition costs.

NCWorks representatives will have information available on: career assessments, job market statistics, job search assistance, resume and cover letter preparation, and even job interview practice. The team can help attendees on the spot or schedule a different time to connect – all free of charge!

Manufacturing Day event hosts nationwide have listed their location and activities on the organization’s website at www.mfgday.com. Since 2012, Manufacturing Day has helped students discover financially rewarding job opportunities.

This event is free and open to the community. With businesses that are currently hiring, career resources, educational opportunities, and even a snack food truck, this is the perfect time to explore your next career step in this industry.
