Jun 11, 2025 03:30PM ● By WNC Business
Elderflower Community, a new multigenerational day camp rooted in holistic care and farm-based living, will host a grand (re)opening and ribbon cutting on Thursday, June 26, from 4 to 7 p.m. at its homestead located at 1611 Charlotte Highway. The event is free and open to the public, with food and live music provided.
Located in the scenic hills of western North Carolina, Elderflower Community offers a unique model of care and connection for older adults, providing daily enrichment through gardening, animal and horticultural therapy, creative arts, and intergenerational programming.
Elderflower’s mission is to support the physical and mental wellness of aging adults while creating opportunities for meaningful engagement in a community setting.
The homestead is envisioned as the first of its kind in Buncombe County—a place where elders can spend their days outdoors, engaged in fulfilling, nature-connected activities while caregivers have the peace of mind of knowing their loved ones are in a safe, vibrant environment.
Multigenerational centers like Elderflower have grown in popularity as families seek creative ways to support both children and elders while balancing work and personal responsibilities. By blending integrative medicine, nature-based therapies, and a strong sense of community, Elderflower Community aims to redefine what aging support can look like in western North Carolina.
Community members, families, local officials, and supporters are encouraged to attend and learn more about the organization’s mission and services.
