The Bal Harbour Shops Access Pop-Up Tour, the first-ever traveling luxury retail event of its kind, will make its next stop in Asheville, North Carolina, in partnership with Tanger. Open daily from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, from June 13 to August 10, this immersive shopping experience will showcase a curated selection of 12 luxury brands and a dining experience alongside some of Asheville and Western North Carolina’s creative, independent vendors. The Pop-up will be hosted adjacent to Tanger Asheville – 800 Brevard Rd – the city’s premier shopping destination.
As Western North Carolina continues its recovery from Hurricane Helene, the Pop-up aims to help boost the region’s economy and directly support area recovery efforts by attracting visitors, increasing area sales tax revenues, and aligning with local charities for mission-driven activations. The tour will offer a range of local employment opportunities, while partnering with local event planners, performers, florists, musicians, photographers, videographers, and the services of area businesses, integrating local flavor into its high-end experience. Efforts to secure local partners are currently underway.
“It’s vital to make connections outside of our region to bring resources into our region for continued recovery. For generations, there have been meaningful relationships between the people of Western North Carolina and South Florida, including summer campers, seasonal residents, and visitors who love supporting local businesses and making memories in the mountains of our region,” said Vic Isley, President and CEO of Explore Asheville powered by the Buncombe County Tourism Development Authority. “We are heartened to build upon our partnership with Bal Harbour Shops and global iconic brands right alongside local, independent Asheville brands that consistently punch above their weight.”
Originated in Bal Harbour, Florida, Bal Harbour Shops and its parent organization, Whitman Family Development, have long-standing ties to Asheville and the surrounding area. In a show of commitment to their “adopted” community, a percentage of all sales during the eight-week event will be donated to local nonprofits focused on hurricane recovery. The initiative aims not only to help restore economic vitality, but also to help shine a spotlight on the region’s openness, resilience, and progress in the months following Hurricane Helene.
“I am personally thrilled to bring the unique, immersive retail and dining experience of Bal Harbour Shops to Asheville, my adopted city, at a time when it is already making a storied comeback”, said Matthew Whitman Lazenby, President and Chief Executive Officer of Whitman Family Development. “With this roving Bal Harbour Shops Access pop-up, we introduce a new and innovative experience with high-touch personal service and high-tech imaginative engineering to deliver memorable moments to our guests, while celebrating and supporting the local community in what is sure to be its complete recovery.”
The Asheville residency will begin with a weekend of Grand Opening celebrations starting on Friday, June 13, and culminating in a Grand Opening party on Wednesday, June 18, bringing a sense of Western North Carolina’s vibrant culture and community to this retail experience.
Bal Harbour Shops’ signature style is set to add a distinct experience unlike any other in the region.
