Claywood celebrates grand opening

Nov 19, 2023 05:00PM ● By Randee Brown

Recently new Hendersonville residents Scott and Carly Buntin celebrated the grand opening of Claywood, a new whiskey and wine bar at 317 7th Avenue, in November.

Co-owner Carly Buntin said upon relocating to Hendersonville, it would be a very long drive to enjoy a date night in the city of Asheville or Greenville, and imagined opening a local space to experience live music and good company. Having a background in marketing as well as the food and beverage industry, the couple envisioned adding value to their new community through this type of business venture.

Buntin said the community has shown a great deal of interest in Claywood. Throughout the renovations process, she said she enjoyed providing sneak peeks into the space in hopes of spreading excitement about the coming venue. Private events held in the space provided good feedback about the atmosphere, food and drinks, and service team.

Officially opened to the public on November 15, the Buntins, along with Carly Buntin’s mother Jean Reinhardt, have special events planned for the holiday season and look forward to sharing the space with their new community.
