Good news for the foodies and snack fans of North Carolina: Poppy Handcrafted Popcorn and Mast General Store have collaborated on a brand-new flavor: Apple Butter Popcorn.

The only aspect about collaborating with Poppy for an exclusive product that didn’t make sense was why we hadn’t thought of it before. We love the Apple Butter flavor they created for us and we know our guests will too!”

This treat will be available in Mast General stores and online at MastGeneralStore.com starting Friday, September 8.

Made with real butter, all-natural apple extract and the traditional spices from our Mast Store Provisioners Apple Butter, this collaboration brings together two of our favorite flavors. Apple butter helped keep food on the table over the winter when it was brought to the Appalachian Mountains by early settlers. Enjoyed on biscuits, as filling for apple stacked cakes, or straight from the jar, it’s a tasty remembrance of summer. In a new discovery, it tastes mighty fine on popcorn, too!

Mast General, based in Valle Crucis and now expanded to a total of 11 stores, has carried Asheville-based Poppy Handcrafted Popcorn since 2017.
