Should I hire a coach? What is coaching, anyway? Most of us have heard about coaching, but not everyone knows what it’s all about. Coaching is a partnership in which the client sets the goals, identifies desired outcomes, and experiences personal growth. In general, coaching is distinct from consulting or mentoring, and regardless of where you are in your career or your life, coaching offers the potential to truly accelerate personal and career development. There’s a huge variety among coaches, in part because as a relatively new specialization there are no training or licensing requirements. This informational session will help you understand what coaching is, and what it is not. It will also describe types of coaching, some tips on how to select a coach, and what to expect from the coaching process. We will also look at ways to measure the value and return on investment of coaching. If you are skeptical about the value of coaching, but would like to learn more, this event is for you.

Presenter Bio Beverly Jurenko, MBA, ACC, and Founder of Inside Edge Consulting LLC provides executive, leadership, and career coaching services. Beverly is certified as a coach by the International Coaching Federation, and a graduate of the coach training program of the Academy for Coaching Excellence. She is also certified by NC Idea and the Entrepreneurial Learning Institute as a Gold Certified Ice House Entrepreneurship Facilitator, and a founding member of the National Speakers Association - Asheville Chapter.
