NC Rural Infrastructure Funds Nearly $15 Million in WNC Projects

Two Western North Carolina projects will receive funding through the N.C. Rural Infrastructure Authority’s latest round of grants, supporting 85 jobs and nearly $14.8 million in private investment.
In Caldwell County, the City of Lenoir received $186,000 to renovate a 103,102-square-foot building that will be occupied by Chase Corporation, a manufacturer of industrial coatings, tapes, adhesives, sealants and other protective materials. The project is expected to create 37 jobs and bring $233,274 in investment.
In Buncombe County, a $480,000 Rural Health grant will support the reuse of an 8,740-square-foot building in Black Mountain for Appalachian Mountain Health. The organization plans to operate an integrated health care facility offering primary care, behavioral health, dental and pharmacy services. The project is expected to create 48 jobs and represents nearly $14.6 million in investment.
The two grants total $666,000.
