This
summer, Blue Ridge Community College will host eight dynamic Summer
Academy camps across its Henderson and Transylvania County campuses. Registration is open March 2 through May 15, 2026, with camps available on a first-come, first-served basis. Each
year, Blue Ridge’s Summer Academy provides fun, affordable, and
high-quality learning opportunities designed to inspire elementary,
middle, and high school students. These hands-on camps introduce
participants to a variety of career pathways in a safe and engaging
environment. Future car enthusiasts, welders, machinists, entrepreneurs,
horticulturists, hair designers, and engineers will develop new skills
and explore potential careers in one-, two-, or three-day sessions. “Blue
Ridge Community College’s Summer Academy camps are designed to spark
creativity and curiosity in young learners,” said Shanda Bedoian, Blue
Ridge’s director of corporate and customized training. “Each camp is
packed with hands-on activities that not only teach new skills but also
build confidence, independence, and a love for learning in a fun and
supportive setting.” For the 2026 season, Blue Ridge Community College's Summer Academy features: • ArcStrong: Design. Fabricate. Weld.
• Automotive Refinishing Technology (ART)
• Amazing Race for Future Healthcare Heroes
• C.A.R.: Cool. Automotive. Repair.
• Hair Art and Design: Creative. World of beauty.
• Metal Makers Academy: Dream it. Machine it.
• Young Builders Camp: Inspiring young minds. Crafting young dreams.
• Young Engineers Experience (YEE): Solve. Explore. Experience. Most

Rock, with select camps—C.A.R. and Young Engineers Experience—also

be held at Brevard High School. The Amazing Race for Future Healthcare
