Carolina Village is proud to announce that Susan Davila has joined its team as Director of Dining Services.

Davila will manage the dining program, including back-of-house and front-of-house operations. She will work with the entire community to ensure that residents receive quality meals, whether from 74 Main, Carolina Village’s fine dining venue; Silos, the casual dining experience; Peaberries, the coffee shop; or The One-Legged Goose bar.

Before joining Carolina Village, Davila served as the Executive Chef at Givens Highland Farms in Black Mountain, NC. She holds an Associate of Applied Business in Hotel Management and Chef Technology from Cincinnati State Technical and Community College.

“I’m very excited about this opportunity,” said Davila. “I love creating joyful, meaningful dining experiences for people, as well as building inclusive, high-performing teams that deliver excellence with compassion, positivity, and purpose. I look forward to doing what I love at Carolina Village.”

Jon Renegar, Chief Operations Officer at Carolina Village, said this about Davila’s appointment: “We are excited about welcoming Susan and having her build on our strong dining foundation, taking it to the next level for residents, staff, and visitors. She shares our genuine passion for people and teamwork.”

Davila’s predecessor, Maria Rich, joined Carolina Village in 2018 and led the opening of four new dining venues during her tenure, winning state awards along the way. “Maria’s time, heart, creativity, and steady care for both residents and staff have all shaped the team in meaningful ways,” said Renegar. “We are deeply grateful for her leadership.”

Carolina Village, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2025 and is Hendersonville’s only Type-A Life Care Continuing Care Retirement Community/Life Plan Community. It offers seniors the full continuum of care – from independent living to assisted living and skilled nursing – on its energetic 96-acre campus.
