For many families across the region, the agency has been a vital partner in supporting elderly and disabled individuals who wish to remain independent in their homes. With the change of ownership, continuity of care and stability were top priorities. “The great care and services our agency provides has steadily continued and operationally we remain strong and solvent,” said new general manager Tonia Holderman.
Holderman stepped into leadership during this transition and quickly established herself as a steadying force. “I have made it a priority to be available to my staff, the clients we serve, and the community at large,” she said. “I feel that open communication and being easily accessible and approachable helps to negate any concerns. I appreciate and welcome feedback and quickly initiate positive changes.”
With more than 30 years in the healthcare industry, Holderman brings deep experience and a hands-on management style. “I enjoy learning from my staff and bringing new ideas to the table,” she said. “I am an encourager by nature and love to support my staff in their growth goals. I empower those around me to be their best and value their opinions.”
Her approach extends beyond the workplace to the families Always Best Care serves. “For my clients and family members I am always available to listen to their concerns or ideas,” Holderman said. “We have implemented some new strategies related to person centered care that has been successful and improved quality of care and services”.
As the retirement and elder care industry continues to evolve, Holderman sees both challenges and opportunities on the horizon. Rising healthcare costs and an increase in dementia diagnoses require innovative, compassionate responses. Always Best Care is addressing these realities by maintaining fair, competitive wages for caregivers and by investing in specialized training programs to better serve clients with cognitive disorders.
Under Elmcare’s ownership and Holderman’s leadership, the agency is preparing for continued growth. “As the population continues to age, we recognize that the demand for our services will keep growing,” Holderman said. “We are developing new programs and services, while also collaborating with local officials to strengthen community-wide initiatives that benefit the individuals and families we serve”.
