The Caldwell Women’s Forum has built a reputation in Caldwell County as a dynamic hub for connection and encouragement among local women. “Caldwell Women’s Forum exists to connect, empower and support women of Caldwell County by building a strong network of encouragement, leadership and collaboration,” reads the organization’s mission statement.

That mission is carried out through monthly gatherings that vary in format and time of day, ensuring accessibility for women with different schedules. Some meetings are held in the morning, others at lunch, and still others in the evening. Each month focuses on the group’s guiding principles of Speak, Grow, Network and often features women business owners or leaders who share their experiences and expertise.

The forum also addresses timely and meaningful topics. In November, the group will host an event centered on foster care, adoption, and volunteer opportunities as a Guardian ad Litem. October marks the group’s signature annual fundraiser, to be held on October 21 at the JE Broyhill Civic Center in partnership with UNC Caldwell and in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This year’s program, Between the Covers: The Healing Power of Stories, will highlight four Western North Carolina authors who share how writing has helped them heal from illness, loss, and trauma.

Events are hosted at venues across Caldwell County, intentionally spotlighting and supporting a range of local businesses. Membership is open to all women in the county, with most events free and open to the public, though registration is required.

“What makes us unique is that at our core you have a wonderful group of women who truly believe in the mission to support and encourage other women,” said Peggy Thompson, president of the Forum. “We celebrate successes, we mentor, we share struggles as well as laughs and we believe that we are better together.”
