The Rotary Club of Asheville announced the appointment of Eva-Michelle Spicer as President for the 2024-25 term. Spicer, a prominent business and community leader, is an Asheville native with generations of history in Western North Carolina. Following her graduation from Asheville School, she attended UNC-Chapel Hill and then attended the Gemological Institute of America.
Spicer succeeds outgoing President Patrick Snyder, who led the Club through an extremely successful year highlighted by its first “Heroes Hoorah Gala” and initiatives to support education and literacy, peacebuilding, and conflict resolution, disease prevention and treatment, community economic development, and the environment. Last year, the Club leveraged local contributions and international grants to create over $150,000 of impact.
Spicer and her husband, Elliott, own and operate Spicer Greene Jewelers, continuing the store's almost 100-year legacy in downtown Asheville. A member of the Rotary Club of Asheville since 2016, she is committed to community efforts focused on both downtown and the city as a whole. At work, she specializes in jewelry design and has been recognized internationally for her one-of-a-kind masterpieces. In her free time, she enjoys quality time with Elliott and their dog, Carats, while taking in the mountain views from their East Asheville home.
