WAYNESVILLE – Mountain Credit Union held its annual Tee it Up for Diabetes Golf Tournament on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, and the event was a success. After a day of great weather and community support, MCU announced a donation of $12,000.00 to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. JDRF is the leading global organization funding Type 1 diabetes research whose mission is to accelerate life-changing breakthroughs to cure, prevent, and treat T1D and its complications.

The tournament, held at Springdale Resort in Cruso drew a record number of players and sponsors. Key winners of the day included teams from WNC Billiards, LLC. of Waynesville and Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort for low gross scores, along with Diesel Power Truck Center of Candler and Ken Wilson Ford of Canton for low net scores. 

Mountain Credit Union extended its heartfelt thanks to all the sponsors, participants, and volunteers who played a vital role in the success of this year's event. The community's commitment to supporting the fight against juvenile diabetes is truly inspiring.
