Central Bark® celebrates grand opening

May 16, 2024 08:12AM ● By WNC Business

Central Bark hosted a grand opening celebration of its newest location in Asheville on Saturday, May 11 with a dog-focused afternoon that was free and open to the public. The new Central Bark Asheville is owned and operated by local couple Emily and Lisa Fenster.

Originally from Texas, the couple settled in Asheville following a few years overseas in Germany where Lisa worked as a speech therapist on a US government contract. The entrepreneurial duo fell in love with Central Bark after extensive research because they wanted to combine their passion for dogs with a thriving business model when they moved back to the US. They knew Asheville would be a great market for Central Bark because it is such a dog friendly community and completely aligned with the brand’s mission statement: to forever nurture, enrich, and inspire whole health, happiness, and unconditional love for each dog, family, and community it serves.

Central Bark Asheville features 7,000 square feet of indoor and 2,000 square feet of outdoor space specifically designed for dogs.

For 20 years, Central Bark has offered its Enrichment Dog Day Care which combines dog day care expertise with the latest in canine behavioral science. Enrichment Dog Day Care provides a blend of exercise, social group play, learning, rest, and love. Central Bark Asheville also offers boarding, training, grooming, a retail market, puppy hours, and more.
