Metro Economy Outlook to feature John Manzella as keynote

ASHEVILLE – World-recognized speaker, author and international columnist John Manzella will keynote the Metro Economy Outlook on Wednesday, December 13 at the Omni Grove Park Inn. This annual event, now in its 24th year, is hosted by the Asheville Area Chamber of Commerce and the Economic Development Coalition for Asheville-Buncombe County.

Manzella’s presentation will analyze macro-economic trends and the direction of globalization. He will explore risks, examine trading relationships, and review critical issues involving labor, skills, automation, and immigration. Additionally, he will offer survival strategies and provide insight on what is ahead. 

“Adaptability and flexibility are necessities for businesses and communities in our fluctuating economy,” said Sabrina Rockoff, EDC Board Chair. “As markets and industries evolve, we have opportunities to redefine and innovate. We look forward to hearing John Manzella’s perspective and viewpoint.”

Manzella brings a wealth of expertise and insights to the Metro Economy Outlook. He has authored several books and is a nationally syndicated columnist on global business, trade policy, labor, and the latest economic trends. He is chair of the Upstate New York District Export Council, a position appointed by the US Secretary of Commerce. His views have appeared in The Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Chicago Tribune, Bloomberg, NPR, Newsday, and many other publications across the globe. He is also the founder of ManzellaReport.com, a valuable resource for global business and economic analysis.

The luncheon is open to the public and will be held in the Heritage Ballroom at the Omni Grove Park Inn starting with networking at 11:00 AM, followed by the program from noon to 1:30 PM.
