WEAVERVILLE — Collab Coworking announces the addition of a much-needed service for home-based businesses in Western North Carolina — an official business address.

Virtual offices can benefit home-based business by helping to keep private information private. Members can use the address of Collab Coworking in Weaverville not only as a place to receive mail, but as the location of the business on Google and the location filed with the Secretary of State.

“This protects business owners from having their private residence on public record,” Co-owner Randee Brown said. “Not everyone wants the world to know where they live.”

Collab Coworking has been designated as a Certified Mail Receiving Agency by the United States Postal Service. This allows Collab Coworking to collect the mail of members on their behalf. Different membership levels also allow members access to networking and learning events and private office hours should in-person meetings or quiet work time away from home be needed.

“It can provide peace of mind for people that work out of their home,” Co-owner Lyndsey Simpson said. “It’s all of the perks of having your own separate business location without the expenses of renting a traditional commercial office.”

“I’ve heard multiple businesspeople say they do not want to be listed in a business directory because they do not want their home address listed on a public forum,” Brown said. “With these options, not only can they comfortably put their business out there for more people to find, they can also have the benefit of a physical commercial location at which to meet clients and conduct business outside of their home.”
