IT job postings decline slightly; NC remains innovative

Jun 19, 2023 09:17AM ● By WNC Business

The NC Technology Association (NC TECH) has released its monthly snapshot of available IT positions in the state, broken down in several ways (top listings by MSA, job type, skills, certifications).

This monthly Tech Talent Trends Alert is released in the latter half of each month with a snapshot of the previous month as well as a rolling thirteen-month chart of IT job openings in NC so that trends can be seen.

“North Carolina’s economic landscape is experiencing both resilience and challenges in the tech sector. While recent economic statistics reveal a decrease in the rate of tech job openings and unfortunate layoffs, the state remains a dynamic hub for innovation and technology,” said Andrea Fleming, Director, Talent + Workforce Development for NC TECH. “Opportunities are still available for skilled professionals in emerging fields such as artificial intelligence and cybersecurity, and the number of start-ups continues to be strong.”

“North Carolina companies continue to attract funding to grow,” Fleming continued. “The Council for Entrepreneurial Development shared in its recent Venture Report that in 2022 NC companies raised over $4 billion in equity capital, more than 75% of which was focused on tech companies.”

The newest and previous IT Job Trends reports are available here, with more talent-related information and resources here.
