WINSTON-SALEM – IFB Solutions, a nonprofit and the largest employer of people who are blind or visually impaired in the country, recently promoted several employees — including the former director of its Asheville facility — to key leadership roles across the organization.

Randy Buckner was promoted to Vice President of Manufacturing Operations. Buckner is based out of IFB’s Asheville manufacturing facility on Sardis Road and has been with the organization for more than 30 years. In his new role, he will lead manufacturing operations for IFB’s three manufacturing facilities in Little Rock, Arkansas; Winston-Salem and Asheville, North Carolina; its manufacturing operations in Puerto Rico; its safety, engineering and technical services; and quality and training. Buckner previously served as IFB’s Vice President of Operations Support.

“As the new Vice President of Manufacturing Operations, I’m thrilled to use the knowledge and experience I gained at the Asheville facility on a broader, company-wide level to benefit all manufacturing operations at IFB Solutions,” Buckner said. “Though I will continue to call Western North Carolina my home base, I’m excited for the opportunity to work with all of the incredible employees who work in our other manufacturing facilities.”

Ken Edwards was promoted to Chief Supply Chain Officer. He previously served as Chief Revenue Officer. In his new role, Edwards oversees procurement, inventory control, contract management, customer service and distribution operations. On an interim basis, he also will oversee IFB’s Base Supply Center retail operations while the organization conducts a competitive search for a Vice President of Base Supply Center Retail and Sales Operations.

Shannon Satterfield was promoted to Director of Professional Services as he continues to make great strides in growing Workforce Services, a staffing operations arm of IFB, which is set to become the company’s third major operating division. In his new role, Satterfield will assume responsibility for IFB’s Community Low Vision Centers and its S.E.E. Programs. He was previously manager of Workforce Services.

IFB Solutions also promoted Natalya Pochkhidze to Director of Accounting, Seth Anderson to Senior Director of Marketing and Development, Kelly Speas to Director of Ratio and Recruitment, Shashank Muttineni to Senior Manager, Enterprise Resource Planning and E-Commerce, and Luyann Ledesma to Human Resources Manager.

“These new roles are designed to streamline day-to-day processes, so that we can remain focused on and
steadfast in our mission: creating jobs for people who are blind,” said IFB Solutions President and CEO Dan Kelly. “Like many organizations, we faced challenges over the last few years, but this time also gave us the opportunity to take a deep look at our operations and determine the best path forward. These promotions are building blocks that ensure we continue to be America’s leader in creating life-changing opportunities for people who are blind.”
