Devil's Foot & Mosaic team up to 'Do Good Through Business'

Mar 14, 2023 05:41PM ● By WNC Business

“Doing Good Through Business” kicks off with three events on March 23, March 30, and April 6. (Additional events are slated for this spring and summer.)

On each designated Thursday from 5 PM to 8 PM, 15% of all bar sales for the evening will be donated to a local nonprofit organization. This donation will be matched by Mosaic Realty and its broker who is supporting the featured non-profit.

The idea for the events was born out of the longtime friendship between Mike Figura (Mosaic) and Ben Colvin (Devil’s Foot), who have long enjoyed challenging each other to do good through business.

It's easy for people to get involved.

Supporting the effort is easy - all you need to do is show up and enjoy a tasty beverage, including craft soda on tap, beer and wine, as well as cocktails and mocktails featuring Devil’s Foot craft sodas and house-made tonic. Each event will be held at The Mule, the taproom by Devil’s Foot Beverages, which is located at 131 Sweeten Creek Road.

Thursday, March 23 – Bounty & Soul Fundraiser.

"There was a period of time earlier in my life when I had lost my job. As the primary breadwinner for our family of three, we became financially insecure and in jeopardy of losing our home. I know what it feels like to be ‘food insecure’ and to only eat tuna fish and peanut butter sandwiches every day. I know how hard it is to ask for help. Bounty & Soul provides healthy fresh foods with love and dignity for our community. I couldn’t be more proud!”

– Elizabeth Putnam, Mosaic agent and partner of Bounty & Soul, who will be matching the donation by Devil’s Foot.

Thursday, March 30 – Brother Wolf Animal Rescue Fundraiser.

"I was raised that pets are family too. Brother Wolf's dedication to bettering the lives of companion animals and the people who love them is such an amazing and necessary endeavor. I'm proud to support Brother Wolf and the furry members of our community."

- Craig Severance, Mosaic agent who has two BWAR adoptees himself, who will be matching the donation by Devil’s Foot.

Thursday, April 6 – NC Outward Bound School Fundraiser.

"I love Outward Bound's mission. I took two courses as an adult and worked for The North Carolina Outward Bound School for 10 years after that. Get out in our Wilderness areas and learn what you can do."

– Joseph Ruiz, Mosaic agent and partner of Outward Bound, who will be matching the donation by Devil’s Foot.
