HENDERSONVILLE – Pardee UNC Health Care continues to expand its cardiology services by adding two board-certified and fellowship-trained cardiologists, Lillia LaPlace, M.D. and Marian Taylor, M.D. who specialize in non-invasive cardiology. The addition of Drs. LaPlace and Taylor exemplify Pardee’s focus on patient-centered care with the goal of providing the highest quality and evidence-based care to the community.

Dr. LaPlace said she chose to join Pardee UNC Health Care because it is part of an academic health system with a genuine commitment to the community it serves. She explained there is a true sense of community, teamwork and value in each team member. Dr. LaPlace is passionate about being a cardiologist because it “allows me to practice in a field that is intellectually challenging while allowing me to develop long-term doctor-patient relationships.” She added that cardiology encompasses many subspecialties and allows one to not only treat common cardiac conditions but also to pursue special interests. “The diversity within the field allows you to be involved throughout a patient's journey from prevention to acute life-threatening illnesses to stable chronic cardiac conditions which fosters the doctor-patient bond.”

Dr. LaPlace earned her medical degree from Howard University and completed her internship, residency, and fellowship at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington D.C. She is committed to a partnership of respect, compassion, and integrity with her patients and believes in providing education, support, and open communication. When not treating patients, Dr. LaPlace enjoys her dogs, hiking, and reading.

Dr. Taylor said she chose to join Pardee because of its excellent reputation and commitment to putting the community first. She considers it a privilege to work alongside Pardee’s team of cardiologists and explains that it’s important for patients to know that caring for them is a collaborative effort and that they are a team in healthcare. “I enjoy cardiology for the opportunity to interact with patients and being involved in caring for their heart health,” Dr. Taylor shared.

Dr. Taylor earned her medical degree and completed her internship, residency and fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina. She believes in building a long-term healthcare relationship by prioritizing compassionate, respectful care in line with patients’ desires and health needs. Dr. Taylor enjoys hiking and spending time with her dog when she is not seeing patients.

Drs. LaPlace and Taylor are accepting new patients, to schedule an appointment call (828) 435-8080.
