Feb 21, 2023 09:00AM ● By WNC Business
The sixth class of inductees will help honor the legacy of women entrepreneurs in the state, and there are currently no women inductees from Western North Carolina in the Hall of Fame.

You can help recognize the outstanding women business owners and advocates from our region by sharing your strong nominations at NCWBOHallOfFame.org/Nominations through April 30.

Nominations are open for both entrepreneurs and advocates who have made significant and enduring contributions to women’s entrepreneurial development in North Carolina. Let’s continue amplifying the stories and legacy of women entrepreneurs in our great state.

Regardless of whether the inductee is living or deceased, their accomplishments and/or contributions are of such special significance that they will be thought of as outstanding when reflected upon from the perspective of future generations. Consideration of potential inductees requires that their efforts, accomplishments and impact be documented and widely honored.

Inductees must have:
  • Made enduring contributions to North Carolina’s entrepreneurial community
  • Made an impact on women’s entrepreneurial development in North Carolina
  • A meaningful connection to North Carolina (such as place of birth, education, and/or business location) and
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities or a spirit of entrepreneurial innovation that can serve as an inspiration to future generations of North Carolina entrepreneurs
Selection for the North Carolina Women Business Owners Hall of Fame requires that the woman’s efforts, accomplishments and impact be documented and widely honored within the business community.

Further, the criteria for induction into the Hall of Fame emphasizes the descriptors “significant”, “enduring contributions” and “impact” on women’s entrepreneurial development.
