Explore Asheville announces two new hires

Cass Herrington has been named Explore Asheville's newest PR Manager.
Among her daily tasks, she most enjoys helping journalists craft engaging stories about Asheville’s people and places. She previously covered local news for Blue Ridge Public Radio. Her work at Explore Asheville similarly allows her to continue her passion for shining a light on our diverse and vibrant community. People can reach out to her for story ideas, particularly those seeking deep local context and sourcing.
In her free time, you can find her gardening or making empanadas.
Explore Asheville also announced its newest Vice President of Business Development, Mike Kryzanek.
While his most recent experience has been in the commercial appraisal and hotel consulting fields, he has been both a Hotel General Manager and Director of Sales for hotels in Asheville and Charlotte, NC.
Michael's job is to lead the team of amazing sales professionals who work diligently to find the right types of groups to boost our hotel partners at the times they need the group business, as well as thinking creatively to find other sources of visitation to Asheville and Buncombe County. We have a diverse portfolio of properties to suit most any type of group meeting need, and our restaurant, entertainment and outdoor activity scene enhance the experience for anyone attending a group event.
He moved to Asheville 30 years ago and quickly made the decision to stay here for the rest of his life. He believes it’s a privilege to work for Explore Asheville and promote the area he loves. In Michael's free time, you’ll often see him on the clay tennis courts at Aston Park Tennis Center. He's also a geography nerd as you can see in the above photo. He has one foot in Missouri and one foot in Oklahoma while straddling the state of Arkansas!
