Pardee UNC Health Care has announced Luke Moeller, an occupational therapist with Pardee Home Health, as its Team Member of the Month. As an occupational therapist, Moeller helps patients live independently and as safely as possible, working with individuals who need assistance learning or re-learning daily skills after an injury, illness or psychological issue.

Moeller has been with Pardee for almost ten years and said his favorite part of his job is that at the end of every day, he can go home feeling that he was able to make a genuine and positive difference in someone's life. He said he was drawn to home health because, “it is challenging, and the most effective place to help people get back to doing the things that they want to be able to do.” He shared that he is consistently proud of the first-rate care Pardee Home Health staff provides in Henderson, Transylvania, Polk and Buncombe counties.

Moeller’s colleagues describe him as fun, caring, and thorough saying, “he is always looking for ways to improve our processes which provides stability and longevity in our team and promotes great clinical care.” His teammates shared that, “he is always willing to jump in and help families and team members and his manner of dealing with tough situations is his strongest attribute.” They also expressed that patients quickly compliment Moeller and request his services when they need occupational therapy.

The Team Member of the Month award is given to a Pardee team member who positively contributes to achieving the organization’s mission, vision and goals. This person is selected by a committee of their peers and recognized for going above and beyond their regular duties to support patients, customers, peers, the organization and its community. The Team Member of the Month award showcases the many different roles of keeping a health system, like Pardee, operating and delivering patient-centered, quality care.
