ASHEVILLE – IFB Solutions, an employer of people who are blind or visually impaired, has promoted Grant Weathers to low vision services manager to oversee its Community Low Vision Centers in Asheville and Winston-Salem. Weathers previously served as low vision services and outreach coordinator at IFB’s Asheville facility.

In his new role, Weathers will manage operations for both of the nonprofit’s Community Low Vision Centers and oversee outreach efforts for those services in the Asheville and Winston-Salem communities. Weathers will report to Shannon Satterfield, director of professional services for IFB. Since his start with IFB in 2014, Weathers has worked in various roles, including in its impulse merchandising sector and stapler manufacturing division. He has been a member of the low vision team in Asheville for more than 10 years.

Weathers, who lost his vision in 2007 due to Leber’s Hereditary Optic Neuropathy, fosters greater independence in people of all ages by helping them find the right tools to address their unique vision challenges. “I’ve walked in their shoes and know how difficult it can be to remain independent while dealing with vision loss,” Weathers said. “Our team has first-hand knowledge and experience to address our customer’s questions and concerns about vision loss.”
