HENDERSONVILLE – AdventHealth Hendersonville welcomed Bo Caldwell, MA, Ed.S., as its new Foundation Director. As the former Superintendent of Henderson County Public Schools, Caldwell brings dedication to serving our local community to the Foundation leadership role. He is excited to support the team at AdventHealth and connect people with whole-person care.

Caldwell spent more than 36 years in education serving as a teacher then moving on to administrative roles before becoming the Superintendent of Henderson County Public Schools. As an accomplished Administrator and Educator, Caldwell brings his leadership values and managerial skills to the role of leading AdventHealth’s Foundation.

As a native of Henderson County, Caldwell has watched AdventHealth Hendersonville grow in its mission to extend the healing ministry of Christ. When he recently had shoulder replacement surgery at AdventHealth, he was impressed with the dedicated and compassionate professionals working together to serve the people in their care. This is part of what inspired him to say “yes” to joining the AdventHealth team.

“As soon as I walked into the hospital, I felt a sense of warmth and caring,” Caldwell remembers. “My hospital experience from the beginning to the end was of top quality with excellent service and care.” He adds, “I served Henderson County Public Schools for more than 36 years; starting as a classroom teacher and retiring as Superintendent. I now have the opportunity to continue to serve my community working with AdventHealth.”

“Bo is going to be an exceptional fit with our team at AdventHealth Hendersonville,” says Brandon Nudd, FACHE, President and Chief Executive Officer for AdventHealth Hendersonville. “With a Foundation role, you’ve got to have someone who can connect with people in a couple minutes and have the ability to go much deeper with the relationship. Bo is that person. As Superintendent of Henderson County Public Schools, he connected with the teachers and now as Director of AdventHealth Hendersonville Foundation he intends to connect with the caregivers. He is going to help tell our story and invite people to support our commitment to improve the health and well-being of people across our region.”

Caldwell believes strong relationships begin with trust and communication. “As the Foundation Director, my goal is for supporters to understand their commitment and generosity will enhance whole-person care for our patients and change lives,” Caldwell says. “My mission will be to generate support and contributions for the hospital so the team members can provide the most up-to-date, whole-person care.”

Bo and his wife have two grown children and one granddaughter. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with family, working in the yard, short hikes in the mountains, and playing golf.
