Chamber members! You're invited to submit a proposal for the 2023-2024 Smart Series beginning September 2023.
Our Smart Series are presentations by members for members, to share expertise and exchange ideas that enable business people to learn, grow and impact their business. Each session will be held in the Asheville Area Chamber of Commerce Board Room from 12-1 p.m.
Proposal Requirements:
- Include a title and brief description of program to be presented.
- Description should give our selection committee a sense of content to be covered and key take-aways for businesses. Typically, 2-3 paragraphs.
- Successful presentations give specific, actionable information that business people can apply to their work.
- Popular topics have included: social media; presentation skills; strategies for networking/sales; branding/marketing; leadership styles; company culture; communication styles
- Include brief bio of presenter.
General criteria for presenters:
- No solicitation of products or services by the speaker.
- Program must advance the professionalism of members.
- Content must be educational, meaningful and practical for the business community.
- Program must be delivered by a qualified expert on the topic.
- Presenter is responsible for program materials distributed to attendees.
- Speaker should indicate equipment/technology needs and conduct a “practice run” at least one week in advance.
- Programs are typically 45 minutes.

Presenters will be selected by the Membership Council and Chamber Member Services. Selection will be made on July 31st and presenters will be notified the following week.
